WHAT IS MYOPIA?

Myopia (short-sightedness) means that objects far away appear blurred, and Spectacles or contact lenses need to be worn to make vision clear. During teenage years myopia commonly increases, meaning that thicker glasses/stronger contact lenses are needed.

 

Myopia management refers to technologies and techniques that slow the rate of progression of short-sightedness (myopia).

At Lambrou we have a special interest and expertise in slowing the progression of short sightedness by use of Spectacles and contact lenses.

 

First and foremost children should aim to spend 2 hours a day outside, and read with bright light. Recent studies increasingly point to ambient light during concentrated tasks being a factor in myopic progression.
